Lauren Engineers & Constructors, Inc.Founded in 1984, Lauren Engineers & Constructors, Inc. (“Lauren”) is a leading “design and build” engineering and construction firm. Lauren provides engineering and construction services primarily to the electric power generation, petroleum refining and petrochemical markets. Lauren’s clients are typically large industrial plant operators or developers whose requirements range from conceptual design for their industrial facility to complete industrial engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) projects. In July 2002, Lauren acquired Kamtech, Inc. (“Kamtech”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ahlstrom Holdings, Inc., the United States subsidiary of A. Ahlstrom Corporation, a privately-held Finnish paper and engineering group. Kamtech is a leading provider of construction management services to the pulp and paper industry, in addition to serving the gas-fired power generation, materials handling, environmental and chemical process industries. Main Street provided the capital necessary to partially fund Lauren’s acquisition of Kamtech. In September 2003, Lauren disposed of the majority of the domestic operations of Kamtech and utilized a portion of the liquidity from this disposition to fully repay Main Street’s debt investment in Lauren. In December 2004, Lauren exercised its option to call Main Street’s warrants in Lauren and under the exercise of such option Lauren redeemed Main Street’s warrant.
