Main Street continues their scholarship program for the 4th year, committing more than $200,000 for 2021
Main Street established a scholarship program in 2017 to provide educational opportunities to children of Main Street and a select group of Main Street’s portfolio companies to assist employees' children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. The scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America (scholarshipamerica.org), the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Through the scholarship fund, dependents of full-time employees of Main Street and MainStreet’s select portfolio companies are eligible to apply for a college scholarship for an accredited two-year or four-year program.
In August 2021, $75,000 of new scholarships were awarded to 18 new students, $131,500 of renewal scholarships were awarded to 28 students. Bringing the total amount of awarded scholarships for 2021 to $206,500 across 46 students.
Since implementing this scholarship program, Main Street has committed nearly $700,000 to the program and has paid out nearly $500,000 in scholarships to date. Main Street is dedicated to giving back to their employees and the employees of their portfolio companies and believes education will empower the country’s next generation of leaders.
Main Street is committed to supporting this program in the future and has successfully increased the scope of the program each year, supporting students from a wide variety of their portfolio companies.
