Summary of Main Street’s Charitable Contributions for 2023

Main Street is a dedicated proponent of supporting local charitable and non-profit organizations. As stated in the CSR Strategy, Main Street supports specific charities based on the feedback from our employees. This support takes the form of both monetary donations, our employees' time, and talents through unique "Main Street team projects" and the utilization of our Volunteer Time Off program. Main Street is pleased to have continued its ongoing support and relationships with Child Advocates, Rescued Pets Movement "RPM", Houston Arboretum, Memorial Assistance Ministries "MAM" and Ronald McDonald House.

For 2023, we are very pleased that Main Street and our employees contributed a total of $379,018 and volunteered 238 hours to local charities. Please see the summary below for a recap on how we were able to support each charity this past year.

Child Advocates A total contribution of $37,280 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $22,640 and donations from Main Street employees of $14,640)

  1. In January 2024, Main Street participated in the Houston Marathon alongside Child Advocates. Main Street supported the charity by having 24 runners (7 marathon, 16 half marathon and 1 5k runner). In addition to the team support, Main Street also made a monetary donation of $8,750. Although the race happened in 2024, the donation was used to support Child Advocates in 2023. 
  2. In December 2023, Main Street participated in the Santa’s Wish List volunteer event alongside Child Advocates. Main Street was able to provide Christmas gifts to over 50 children and provided a monetary donation of $10,000. In addition to the donation drive, 15 Main Street employees also volunteered their time to help Child Advocates sort and organize all the toys.
  3. In May 2023, Main Street participated in the Pull for Kids Classic event alongside Child Advocates. Main Street employees provided monetary donations of $14,000. In addition to the donations, five employees volunteered their time to help setup for the event. Main Street also supported the charity by having a team participate in the sporting clays tournament.

Rescued Pets Movement A total contribution of $32,500 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $31,000 and donations from Main Street employees of $1,500)

  1. In August 2023, Main Street volunteered at Rescued Pets Movement to help with the animals at the facility. Five employees volunteered for four hours on a Saturday. The team performed tasks such as: cleaning kennels, washing dishes, laundry and walking dogs.
  2. In May 2023, Main Street supported RPM by sponsoring a $5,000 table for the 10th anniversary Meow and Bow Wow Brunch Bash. In addition to the sponsorship Main Street also had 4 employees attend the brunch.

Houston Arboretum A total contribution of $24,888 (including a combination of Main Street donations of 23,694 and donations from Main Street employees of $1,194)

  1. In October 2023, Main Street sponsored the ArBOOretum event at the Arboretum. Main Street was a supporting sponsor which included a $5,000 monetary donation. In addition to the sponsorship, Main Street had families attend the event and provided flashlights for the event.
  2. In May 2023, Main Street employees volunteered at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. Our team donated supplies and their time digging up rare native Texas plants from a prairie and then relocating them to the Arboretum. Main Street also made a $10,000 donation for the Gravel Pathway project.
  3. In May 2023, Main Street supported the Alfresco Gala by sponsoring a $2,500 table and having members of our team attend.

Ronald McDonald House A total contribution of $21,650 from Main Street (including a combination of Main Street donations of $21,100 and donations from Main Street employees of $550)

  1. In December 2023, Main Street participated in the 14th annual Trafigura Run benefiting Ronald McDonald House Houston. Main Street showed its support by contributing a donation of $10,000. In addition to the sponsorship, the Main Street team had 9 participants join the cause on race day.
  2. In August 2023, Main Street volunteered at the Holcombe House. Our team catered lunch to the families, residents, and staff of the Holcombe House. The event included a $5,000 sponsorship and was supported by 12 Main Street employees.
  3. In March 2023, Main Street volunteered at the Holcombe House. Our team catered dinner to the families, residents, and staff of the Holcombe House. The event included a $5,000 sponsorship and was supported by 7 Main Street employees who served food to over 50 families.

Memorial Assistance Ministries (“MAM”) A total contribution of $24,200 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $22,800 and donations from Main Street employees of $1,400

  1. In August 2022, Main Street participated in Memorial Assistance Ministries’ (“MAM”) back to school drive. To support MAM’s mission, Main Street hosted a back-to-school clothing fundraiser. Our team raised $18,700 to support children and their parents.

Operation Gratitude A total contribution of $10,000 from Main Street 

  1. In November 2023, Main Street partnered with Operation Gratitude to organize a hands-on volunteer event at our offices. Main Street donated $10,000 worth of supplies. In addition to the donation, Main Street employees also volunteered their time to help assemble battle buddies, sort supplies and package and deliver hygiene care kits.

Various Donations & Matching A total contribution of $12,500 was made to other non-profit organizations in our community (including a combination of Main Street donations of $7,250 and donations from Main Street employees of $5,250)

  1. Our matching program and Dollars for Doers program matches individual employee contributions on a dollar-for-dollar basis and dollars for hours volunteered. For 2023, Main Street employees donated $5,250 to a charity of their choice and volunteered for 34 hours. Main Street matched their donations and hours bringing our total donations to $12,500. 

Education A total contribution of $264,000 was made to the Main Street scholarship program in 2023 ($48,000 payable by portfolio companies and $216,000 payable by Main Street)

  1. In 2023, $216,000 of new and renewable scholarships were funded by Main Street, bringing the lifetime committed amount to $1.429 million (or $1.677 million with our LMM portfolio companies) and paid $0.772 million (or $0.849 million with our LMM portfolio companies).
