Main Street Volunteers at Ronald McDonald Holcombe House
In June 2025, Main Street volunteered at the Holcombe House, one of four Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston (RMHC) locations. For more than 30 years, RMHC has provided a “home away from home” for families with seriously ill children, offering lodging, meals, and a supportive environment near the Texas Medical Center. These services help ease the financial and emotional burdens associated with extended hospital stays by keeping families close to their hospitalized children.
To further support families facing long medical journeys, RMHC launched the JoyyFULL Eats program—an initiative aimed at reducing food insecurity by providing access to consistent, nutritious meals. Through this program, volunteers can get involved by sponsoring or preparing meals, donating H-E-B gift cards, or hosting food drives to keep RMHC’s pantries stocked.
Main Street supported the JoyyFULL Eats program by catering lunch for more than 50 residents, families, and staff at the Holcombe House. Twelve employees used their Volunteer Time Off to serve the meal and assist with cleanup. In addition to hands-on volunteer service, Main Street made a $5,000 donation to fund three additional meals at RMHC’s other Houston locations.
