Main Street shows their support for 11th Annual Trafigura Run
In December 2020, Main Street participated in the Trafigura Run benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Houston. The Trafigura Foundation (trafigurafoundation.org) is the philanthropic arm of Trafigura, one of the world’s leading international commodity traders. The Trafigura foundation provides long-term funding and expertise through close cooperation with organizations working to improve the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable communities. Since 2010, the Trafigura Foundation has supported the mission of the Ronald McDonald House Houston. For more than 30 years, Ronald McDonald House Houston (rmhhouston.org) has been helping families with seriously ill children stay close together during these difficult times. By providing a “home away from home” while their child receives the treatment they need.
For the second year in a row, Main Street was a sponsor and participant in the 11th annual Trafigura Run. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race could not be held in person. However, the event organizers and their sponsors came together to support the execution of a virtual event. Main Street supported the virtual run by contributing a monetary donation of $3,000. In addition, Main Street had 9 participants on the Main Street Capital Team who participated in the event, showing their support by running the virtual race. The Main Street Capital Team ultimately raised the fifth most donations out of all the participating teams, for an additional donation of $1,912.
